Again, it’s been a while, but today after school I recorded “Hinata vs. Neji” by Toshiro Masuda from the Naruto anime series. It should be up by Monday hopefully. Until later, Alice.

A week ago today I was preparing for a performance (sort of) at a local church/school. They were having an evening cocktail party and I was invited (courtesy of our choir’s accompanist’s recommendation) to play for as long as I liked. A couple other people were invited to play, but they couldn’t make it, so it was just me from about seven to eight thirty.

I was playing a very nice grand piano on a stage, which was somewhat intimidating at first, but once I had played the first couple songs or so, I relaxed and just played. It was more or less like playing at home after that. I was very relieved that it turned out that way, because I’ve never done anything like that before. I’ve played at recitals since I was in first grade, but I only had to learn and perfect a couple songs, and then I was done. The same went for my middle school competitions- one song, and then it was over. Things were almost the same when I accompanied my middle school choir and, later, high school vocalists for competition- the focus wasn’t on me, it was on the singers.

When I finally ran out of music, I left quietly and an iPod was put on. Apparently a lot of people complimented my playing while speaking to the organizer of the event, which I somewhat surprised and yet was very very glad to hear. A woman even came up to me as I was walking out the door to chat. I’m so happy that I was able to have this opportunity, and I hope they will pass my name on to others looking for a pianist. First Performance – River Flows In You

Today I recorded a performance of Yiruma’s “River Flows In You.” Since school starts tomorrow, I thought I’d kick it off to a good start by playing piano. Some of you might know that River Flows In You has at least been rumored to have been considered to be Bella’s lullaby in the highly popular Twilight movie. Personally, I like Yiruma’s song better than what they chose, but the other was good as well. Everyone has thier own opinion. So, it has been uploaded to YouTube. Day 1 – I have no idea how this works…

Alright. I just created my youtube channel and this blog. I’ve never used wordpress before, so this should be an adventure. I’ll do my best to get videos on my channel as well as posts here. My youtube account is RestlessAlice, and you can read a bit about what my goal is there. I want to make a name for myself in music, and since I’m still in highschool, I need to start now, even if it’s just videos on youtube. I’d be thankful for your support if you’re willing to lend it.
